The academic year begins in August and ends in June.
The school year is divided into 4 quarters with a winter break, summer break and two shorter breaks as the major scheduled vacations during the academic year. All the national holidays of Bangladesh are also observed.

School Timings
AIS currently offers half-day and full-day programs for toddlers (2+ years) and pre-school (3+ years) students and full day programs for Pre-Kindergarten (4+ years) to Class VII (12+ years). The school day is designed to maximize learning and physical exercise. All students in the Early Years and Elementary Program participate in daily physical activities, and they have time for a snack in the morning and lunch in the early afternoon. Students in Elementary school have a daily recess, snack and lunch break.
On Tuesday afternoons, classes finish early where needed to allow time for faculty professional development.
