Life in Aurora is joyful and engaging! Classroom study itself is hands-on, engaging and built on student’s curiosity. Our teachers truly make learning fun.
At the same time, student life encompasses a lot more than just academics. For students in the Early Years and Elementary School, daily physical activity and arts activities take place. And, we provide other opportunities for older students to develop an ecosystem of learning around the school. Key aspects of life beyond academics include:
- Community service is built into our academic program from an early age; students take part in age-appropriate activities that develop their principles and caring for their community.
- Field trips are an intrinsic part of the academic program and we provide opportunities for our learners to relate their learning to the real world regularly.
- Students from Elementary school can also take part in overnight trips to develop their self-confidence and self-sufficiency while making connections between the real world and their learning in school.
- Community engagements are common at Aurora – we invite guest speakers or take students to visit professionals and academics to learn directly from a range of experts.
- After-school clubs and programs allow students to explore their individual interests and talents.
- The celebration of important festivals brings a spirit of community and giving to the campus. This allows students to appreciate their own culture and personal histories as well as the values and traditions of other communities.
- All kinds of events, performances, awareness programs and family programs provide a platform for students to show off their learning to their families, while involving and connecting their families closely to the school.
A wider range of programs and events will be designed for older students such as community service projects, academic competitions and fairs, leadership opportunities, national and international trips, and sports competitions. Programs for older students, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, Model United Nations, and debate competitions will also be arranged.
