Aurora is committed to providing the support that each child needs in order to learn, grow and blossom into a balanced, responsible young adults, within our limitations and capacities. We maintain a safe learning and working environment for all members of the school community, and ensure that students have someone to turn to if they need help. We ensure students are comfortable in their classrooms, are making friends and developing social skills, and are developing healthy relationships with their teachers and other adult role-models.
Aurora has a safeguarding policy that helps to ensure all members of the community work together to keep our students safe. For older students, we will provide socio-emotional support as well as guidance counseling as students approach high school and prepare for their academic careers beyond. Pastoral care, career and life skills development, and awareness programs will all be a part of the school’s services for older students.
Goals we intend to achieve:
- Help students maximize their academic, social and emotional potential.
- Help students acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and attributes required to successfully respond to societal expectations.
- Help students gain the skills they need to cope with personal problems and concerns that may impede educational achievement, career development and personal/social growth.
- Request assistance of parents, teachers, and other school personnel in the identification of personal, social and intellectual needs of students.
